The Village of Kingsley has recently awarded a project to Molon Excavating, Inc. known as the 4-inch Watermain Upgrade Project. The project consists of replacing 3,025 feet of 4-inch lead-joint watermain, including asphalt replacement, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk and pavement markings as impacted within the project limits. The contractor will begin with Madison and Elm Street.

The project limits include:
*Madison Street from Elm to N Brownson: approximately 630 ft
*Elm Street from West Main (M-113) to Case: approximately 850 ft
*Blair Street from Clark to Elm: approximately 625 ft
*Dennis Street from Spring to South Brownson: approximately 370 ft
*Spring Street from Fenton to South Brownson: approximately 550 ft

This project will occur during the 2024 construction season and is slated to begin on August 12, 2024, with an anticipated completion date of October 30, 2024. You may see Wade Trim, MISS Dig, Molon Excavating, or GFL marking utilities, installing signage, and completing other related work. GFL will be televising the sewer lines in conjunction with the watermain work within the project limits. The contractor plans to work Monday – Saturday, except for Labor Day Weekend.

This work will cause disruptions to pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Appropriate signage will be in place. The roads and sidewalks will be closed to thru traffic; however, access to homes will always be maintained. If possible, please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion, delays, and promote worker safety.

DISRUPTION OF WATER SERVICE

Homeowners within the project limits will temporarily have their water shut off when their service is switched from the old watermain to the new watermain. This will be a short disruption, and the contractor will knock on your door prior to making the switch. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
